Chairman’s Message

Dear Members and Residents of Borim,

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I address you as the Chairman of The Bori Urban Co-op Credit Society Ltd. Our journey began with a shared vision to uplift our community and provide financial support to those in need. Today, we stand as a testament to the power of unity and collective effort.

Our village, Borim, has always been a beacon of peace and harmony, where people from diverse backgrounds come together in mutual respect and cooperation. This spirit of togetherness has been the cornerstone of our society’s success. We have seen our ancestors thrive through traditional occupations such as agriculture, betel nut farming, and fishing, even during challenging times. However, preserving these occupations has become increasingly difficult without financial aid.

Recognizing this need, a group of like-minded individuals, led by Mr. Utkarsh S P Borkar, came together on June 25, 1998, to discuss the formation of a credit co-operative society. This initiative aimed to provide financial assistance to our youth, who are now more literate and eager to pursue higher education or start small-scale businesses. Despite their talents, many have faced financial barriers that hinder their progress.

Through a series of meetings and collaborative efforts, we successfully established The Bori Urban Co-op Credit Society Ltd. Our society was officially inaugurated on January 31, 1999, and has since been dedicated to supporting the financial needs of our community members. We have opened an account with the Goa State Co-op Bank Ltd Ponda, ensuring transparency and accountability in our operations.

As we move forward, our commitment to the community remains unwavering. We will continue to review our progress and adapt to the evolving needs of our members. Our goal is to empower every individual in Borim to achieve their dreams and contribute to the prosperity of our village.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the founding members, the Board of Directors, and every member of our society for their dedication and hard work. Together, we will build a brighter future for Borim.
